Summer preview
20/03/12 14:51
Muubaa's summer collection shows its artistic side, introducing diverse new stylish silhouettes. High end opulence fused with punk rock youth are shown in the collections Delaney Laser Cut Biker which is constructed from abstract laser cuts fused with precision placement. The Tynan Frill Jacket utilizes primped pipping and raw exposed seams for a hard edged approach to this delicate lady-like jacket. Contoured tailoring encompasses the collections core fashions, from the Cion Biker, Athena Biker, Ananin Disorted Blazer and Merini Biker, muubaa uniquely pioneers a freedom of grandeur, capturing pure style, dramatic flair and flirty sensuality. The Maldini Drape Jacket is a new aged hybrid blending mixed fabrications for a revolutionized silhouette that aquatints comfort and poise. Similarly the Zeyna Soft Cowl

Neck maintains a comparable composition featuring a unique distressed treatment creating a propitiously aged streamlined appearance. Cross-contamination of color waves emerge this summer in lobster pinks, cherry reds, dusty rose, and gentrified grape, while traditional color ways maintain strong ties this season with the continuation of blacks, greys, taupes, browns, and honey tones. muubaa pays a testament to the detailed thought that goes into each and every jacket. Such innovations are all distinctively muubaa – refined and edgy with an alluring, unexpected twist.

Knits and sheer skirts showed us plenty of junk in the trunk and jewelry was a
must. The muso black uniform also made a showing, with oversized 90s style coats and DMs injecting a grunge looks –thank God Courtney kept away!

Sunshine, singers, polka dots, and color blocks were spotted at Lollapalooza this past weekend as music fans from all over the country descended upon Chicago (incidentally, the Windy City was also the starting point of the once traveling show) to listen to some of the biggest bands of the year. And while what to wear for three full days and nights of music and mild mayhem in Grant Park might confound some, it was clear that an effortless and modern summer aesthetic (with a nod back to the rock-’n’-roll, ripped denim, and heavy-on-the-hardware shoes and bags from the days of yore) can get you through almost anything.
